Martin Cooks Mindfulness Garden RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2013

We have great news! Following the success of Martin Cooks silver/gilt medal winning show garden, ‘A Literary Garden’ 2011, he has been invited to create another show garden for RHS  Chelsea Flower Show 2013.

Martin Cooks ‘The Mindfulness Garden’ will be seen in the Fresh Gardens section of Chelsea Flower Show.  This year his inspiration comes from the chaotic and unsure times that we live in and highlights the need to focus.  This garden is an art installation contrasting chaos and calm.  A random sensory bombardment of planting colour, but from a carved oak seat in one corner of the garden one looks through a long polished stainless steel tube under the garden mound to a hand carved slate spiral with an inspirational carving.  Martin likens the planting to the random colour of a Jackson Pollock splash painting.

The garden will contain three carvings.  The oak bench, the carved paving surrounding the bench and the large slate spiral.

Martin would like to thank his sponsors for their encouragment and support.  The main sponsors are The Marble and Granite Centre, Informa Plc. Merchant Taylors’ School, The Merchant Taylors’ Company and the Bohun Gallery in Henley-on-Thames.
