Riven Welsh Slate Standing Stone by Martin Cook

This elegant 8′ high riven Welsh slate standing stone by Martin Cook was recently

installed in the clients garden.  It was a private commission, a gift to Martin’s clients husband.

This riven Welsh slate standing stone was designed and hand carved by Martin Cook at his Buckinghamshire studio.

Martin is often commissioned to design and make standing stones for clients.  Often the standing stone is carved with a verse that is important to the client as a gift, to mark an occasion such as a wedding, or even as a private memorial to a loved one.

Martin only uses the best quality British stone such as Welsh slate, Celtic limestone, Portland stone and Cumbrian green slate.
