Hand carved Portland Stone monument

This impressive war memorial was designed and carved by hand at the Martin Cook Studio in Buckinghamshire.

The Portland Stone monument features large hand carved letters and a relief carving of the globe.  The elegant and simple monument was designed by Martin Cook to impress upon the viewer the extensive spread of war and loss throughout the World.

Martin designed the monument at the drawing board designing by hand in the traditional way and then carving each letter and relief carving with a hammer and chisel.

Martin specialises in hand carved lettering.  He creates individually carved pieces from natural British stone.  His clients include private individuals, architects, landscapers and galleries.
