Slate sundial with hand carved verse for Grand Designs
Slate sundial by Martin Cook with hand carved verse

This slate sundial featured in the garden of this weeks edition of Grand Designs. It was designed and hand carved by Martin Cook.

The contemporary house on the banks of the River Thames created a look of debate. Some loved it, others hated.  Regards of personal opinion it was striking.  The minimal garden was beautiful and featured two of Martins garden pieces. A lettered oak bench and the slate sundial.  The slate sundial was hand carved with poetry and has a gilded dial.  It fitted in beautifully.  A really talking point (just like the  house!).
