These beautiful and elegant boxes feature hand carved lettering in slate.

Martin Cook designed and carved these idigbo and slate boxes for an exhibition.  The boxes are hand made and the lettered slate lids show flowing hand carved lettering.  Each box has a hand carved lid with a different sentiment. One with carved lettering ‘Wonderful things’ and the other ‘Belle choses’ each has  gold leaf detail.

Martin Cook is a maker of hand carved lettering in slate, Cumbrian slate, Portland Stone and oak.  Martin makes individually designed memorials, monument, sundials, benches, standing stones and artwork all incorporating hand carved lettering.

Martin Cook’s work can be seen all over the World as private commissions in clients private gardens as well a public spaces such as Savill Gardens, Horseguard Road and The Great Court of The British Museum.

Martin Cook Studio exhibits at RHS Chelsea Flower Show and RHS Hampton Court Flower Show every year and Martin as also been award a Gold and a Silver/Gilt medal at Chelsea Flower Show for his two show gardens The Literary Garden 2011 and The Mindfulness Garden in 2013.
